Tessellation
: pattern created by covering a surface with geometric tile shapes
Within “Tessellations,” leftover acrylic paint is transformed. For this body of work, fragments of recycled acrylic are cut and arranged into geometric terrazzo mosaics on canvas. Within each small shape, a unique moment is captured, and together, they form patterns that have the potential to build indefinitely. The results may evoke edible confections, architectural tiles, patchwork quilts, or even manufactured landscapes.
“Tessellations,” 2025. Acrylic on canvas. 24 × 24 × 1.5 or 6 × 6 × 1.5 in.
